Our annual Surf Carnival took place at Boat Harbour Beach on Friday, 28 February and what a fantastic day it was! With crystal-clear water, perfect weather and mild conditions, students and staff alike enjoyed a memorable day of competition. 

As students stepped off the bus, the beach and surroundings felt brighter and enthused as the competition was underway. The beach was buzzing with energy as the first events got underway. Year 7s approached the day with a mix of nerves and enthusiasm, eager to experience their first surf carnival. Years 8 and 9 hyped each other up, bracing for the cool water, while the Year 10s arrived confident and ready to take on the challenge.  

The competition was fierce this year, with impressive performances across all year levels. The addition of some talented new Year 7 competitors kept the results unpredictable. Jenner and Gibbons worked hard to earn valuable points, while Austin fought to defend their lead for another year. 

Every student and house should be proud of their efforts. It was fantastic to see so many students participating, embracing the messages about sun safety and hydration, and supporting their peers with encouragement throughout the day. 

A huge thank you to the Boat Harbour Beach Surf Lifesaving Club members and volunteers who gave up their time to help the event run smoothly. We also appreciate the dedication of our teachers who organised the carnival and the staff who supported the day. Special mention goes to our House Captains, who endured an early start to help set up—your leadership and commitment did not go unnoticed! 

As we celebrate the success of this carnival, we now turn our focus to the next big event on the school calendar. Well done, everyone!
